The presence of Facial dandruff is characterized by the presence of oily, dry, red and scaly patches. It may also lead to the redness that is caused by the skin inflammation. The scales may also look yellow in colour. The presence of patches is oily in touch and appears dry to the scales. Seborrheic dermatitis is caused by naturally occurring skin yeast called as Malassezia that leads to inflammation related to the dandruff when it is overgrown in a mass quantity. Another cause of dandruff is the excessive production of oil in the skin pores. It is of common occurrence in persons with oily skin. It is recommended to wash your face regularly to avoid the oily skin on your face because this oil may results in the build-up of oil that eventually leads to facial dandruff. Another thing to consider is to avoid washing your face too often as it can leads to problems if your soap contains alcohol.
The facial dermatitis may also be hereditary in nature. The presence of Seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp in infants is called as cradle cap. Some of the major risk factors that are associated to the facial dermatitis include Seborrheic dermatitis, obesity, stroke, HIV, and Parkinson’s disease. The best remedy for treating the facial dermatitis is the prevention of excess oil followed by effective skin care. You can also wash your face daily and treat dry patches proactively. You should avoid scratching the affected areas as it can lead to infection.
The treatment of facial dermatitis involves the cleansing of the spots present on the face by using an antidandruff shampoo. You should use it three times a week till the patches vanishes. You can also take consultation with doctor and follow with an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream. You should take the advice of your paediatrician for treating the facial dandruff in kids.
