It’s Never Too Late November 17, 2010
Dandruff is a condition in which dead skin cells are shed in excess. It can seriously damage the hair if the disease becomes acute. Therefore it is best to use remedies when you see first signs of this ailment which includes itchy scalp and visibility of white flakes on your dress. But its never too late. You can still treat dandruff in its severe stage. Some of the cures are given below.
ü Hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) and apple cider vinegar might help in reducing the source of dermatitis. Apply this, leave for a few minutes and then rinse off. This routine is followed by the application of tea tree oil on the entire scalp. It has to be left overnight. The mixture can be made by them in the ratio 1:10. One part of apple cider vinegar and one part of Hydrogen peroxide are to be diluted with 10 parts of water. It can be used as a shampoo.
ü The use of aloe Vera can help greatly in the reduction process. But mind you, only ALOE VERA OIL. But even this doesn’t work unless and until it is mixed with tea tree oil or lavender. So next time make sure not to put aloe Vera alone.
ü A recent study has showed that people who don’t drink enough water are more likely to suffer from severe dandruff. You need not worry about water scarcity while drinking water. Drink as much as you can. But obviously do worry about it while wasting.
ü You will be happy to know that onion which you mostly eat in salads is another cure for severe dandruff. This ailment is a sulphur deficiency which can be cured by putting onion juice to your scalp. My mum used this method. And believe me it did help her. Even though due to old age her hair has started falling but I could see the difference. Her hair were more softer and shone brilliantly and looked more brown(well! Yes…even now her hair has not lost their natural color).
ü Ketoconazole 2% is more effective in curing severe cases of dermatitis. In addition to this zinc pyrithione 1% shampoo was equally effective.
ü Prescription Cortisone lotions should be used intermittently as a remedy of dandruff.
ü While washing hair, apply a generous amount of vinegar to your scalp and massage it deep in. It may burn at first. But this suffering is nothing in front of the mortifying flakes. Then rinse with cold water. The smell will persist for a few hours which is an unavoidable repercussion. So don’t even think of trying this method if you have to go to school, college or work. The next day use selsun blue. Repeat this method after intervals for a few weeks. It will help greatly in reducing dandruff.
Severe dandruff is usually a result of some kind of fungi which is difficult to get rid of.
But don’t start fretting if one day you see a plethora of upsetting white flakes on your scalp or your new dress. You can always find a cure for this ailment. Remember never is too late.
