Prevention is Better than Cure November 18, 2010
The age old saying “Prevention is better than cure” almost suits all cases. When it comes to disease or ailments, this becomes an indispensable suggestion. Similar is the case with dandruff. Though it can be cured with chemical or herbal methods but why stress ourselves with the embarrassing flakes and the cure if we can avoid it. Some of the methods of prevention are as follows:-
“Drinking 7 to 8 glasses of water”. That is absolutely true. A recent study revealed that people who drink less water are more likely to have dandruff. Moreover according to our ancestors and doctors drinking water also keeps other diseases at bay.
You love experimenting with your hair but have you ever thought what harm it must be doing to your naturally beautiful hair? Try and keep the usage of gels and other chemicals minimum. It does not lead to dandruff but it can augment the persisting dandruff problem.
Hygiene is another requirement. Wash your hair after an interval of 2 days and maximum 4 days. Everyone needs pampering. Even your hair. Massaging with hot oil and wrapping damp towel once every week will do the needful. But wash your hair after 1 hour or so.
Don’t tell me you don’t fall ill in extreme weather conditions. At least your hair does. The symptom of their poor health is dandruff. Cover your head during acute heat or cold but make sure that hair is able to perspire.
A 6th grader will tell you about a balanced diet in detail. Do listen to him. He might be telling useful information. Balanced diet prevents the occurrence of other diseases which further prevent dandruff. Eat zinc rich food in order to prevent dandruff.
Use warm or cold water to wash hair. They block the cuticles and the oil passage. Never use hot water. It may damage hair.
“Be happy”. Even though stress is not linked with dandruff directly but it affects our health in many ways. Deterioration of health may lead to dandruff. And never ignore a good night’s sleep.
Do not blow dry hair. I no they make hair look tamed. But the heat seriously damages them leaving them dry in the long run.
Buy a good anti-dandruff shampoo. Choose a shampoo containing ketoconazole.
Using tea tree oil. It not only prevents the beginning of dandruff but also leaves your hair feeling silkier and smoother. It cleanses your scalp and is the most popular remedy.
Your hair also needs its diet. Massage your scalp with curd at least once in a month. You will find your hair fuller once you rinse off.
The above mentioned ways will definitely help you in prevention from dandruff. But if you have already become a victim to this don’t worry; you can cure dandruff by many ways. Others just need to follow the steps so that they can wear dark colored clothes without anxiety.
